P.E. Objectives & Policies

The short term objective of the physical development program is to provide students with opportunities to learn object handling, spatial orientation, body image, rhythms, balance, health and  fitness concepts as well as miscellaneous locomotor and non-locomotor activities.

The long term objective is to teach students the skills they need to be active for life and motivate themselves to remain active on their own.

Students in grades K-5 attend Physical Development classes every day for thirty minutes.

Students are required to wear gym shoes.  Slip on types without straps are discouraged since they tend to fly off during kicking activities.

As stated in the District Guidelines: Students who cannot participate in Physical Education for illness/injury require a note from the parent(s)/guardian(s) for the first day.  A physician’s order is needed for extended restrictions (more than one day).
