Math Interventions

Do the Math (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt) - An intensive math intervention designed to rebuild numerical foundations and help students develop the skills they need to compute with accuracy and efficiency, develop number sense to reason, and apply their skills and reasoning to solve problems.

Number Worlds (McGraw Hill) - A research-proven, teacher-led math intervention program that was built on state standards to close the gap using real world applications. Number Worlds incorporates hands-on learning with engaging manipulatives along with digital programs to increase number sense and math skills.

Peer Assisted Learning Strategies-PALS (Vanderbilt University) - The PALS Math is on number recognition, number concepts, and the development of a mental number line representation. Early concepts of addition and subtraction are also introduced with an emphasis on “number stories.”

Touch Math -  Students use Touch Points to count and associate the numerals with real values. They learn that the Touch Points represent a quantity and are able to use it with computations in addition and subtraction equations. Touch Math reinforces all basic operations, since they  are based on counting.
